HREC
TGAs Authorised Prescriber Scheme
The Therapeutic Goods Administration (TGA) has recognised that there are circumstances where patients may require access to medicines, medical devices and/or biologicals that have not been approved by the TGA. This includes medicinal cannabis.
Authorised Prescriber Application
AHPRA-registered medical practitioners can apply to our Human Research Ethics Committee (HREC) to become a Medicinal Cannabis Authorised Prescriber (AP) under the Therapeutic Goods Administration (TGA) Authorised Prescriber Pathway.
Our HREC can provide the required ethics approval for your TGA Authorised Prescriber application. This approval is a key step in ensuring that you can lawfully prescribe unapproved medicinal cannabis therapeutic goods through the AP Pathway when clinically justified, giving your patients access to treatments under a regulated and compliant framework.
Psychedelics Application Form
This application is strictly for psychiatrists seeking approval to become an Authorised Prescriber of psychedelics under the current TGA (Therapeutic Goods Administration) framework. To be eligible, you must be a qualified and registered psychiatrist with the relevant credentials and clinical experience.
Research Application
ANZCCP is now an approved Human Research Ethics Committee (HREC), please review our Terms of Reference and Procedures. As we are now a HREC we can accept applications for ethics approval of a research project.
The Chief Investigator is responsible for the research project and for ensuring that all aspects of the research undertaken comply with the NHMRC’s National Statement on the Ethical Conduct in Research Involving Humans and the Australian Code for the Responsible Conduct of Research.
